Peyton Manning is on the defense after HGH allegations were aimed in his direction, and his old team is stepping up to help him out.

The NFL world was rocked on Saturday night when an explosive report linked Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning to HGH-use and steroids. That’s a dangerous thing to do in this day and age we live in where allegations are almost as bad as actual convictions.

But already Manning has come out and denied this Al Jazeera report, and he’s getting help from former employers along the way. Manning spoke to ESPN on Sunday morning to deny the allegations and his former team, the Indianapolis Colts, have tried to clear the air as well.

Here’s the full statement from the Colts on the Manning steroid allegations.

Manning has already come out publicly to deny the hell out of these allegations in a way we’ve never seen the future Hall of Famer deny anything. Manning appeared more angry than he’s ever been and his forehead was as read and huge as it’s ever been before. That won’t totally kill the allegations, but it has already gone a long way in calling into question the validity of the report.

There were other names outed in the report too, like Clay Matthews and Mike Tyson. We haven’t heard any public denials from any of those parties, but perhaps their letting Manning do the talking and discrediting for them.
