2. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have already clinched a playoff spot after winning their ninth consecutive game. It would have been difficult to imagine the Chiefs recovering from a 1-5 start, especially after losing running back Jamaal Charles for the season. The Chiefs continue to be one of the hottest teams in the NFL though. Their rushing offense has not missed a beat with Charcandrick West and Spencer Ware emerging as threats. Quarterback Alex Smith continues to be efficient with the ball, and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has added a new dimension to the passing offense.

His presence has undoubtedly helped the Chiefs offense move forward without Charles, and their scoring defense ranks second in the league with only 18 points allowed per game. Safety Eric Berry and outside linebacker Justin Houston have been the key fixtures in the Chiefs defense, but the offense should never be slept on either. If the Chiefs somehow draw the Broncos or Bengals instead of the Patriots if they get past the first round, they will have a great chance of wreaking havoc in the playoffs.

They may even upset the Patriots if they can limit Tom Brady and if Alex Smith continues to do well at not turning the ball over.
