New York Jets

Grade: A-

What went right: Most people expected that the offense would be the Achilles heel of this team, but it has risen up to be fairly potent. Ryan Fitzpatrick was acquired for a seventh-round pick and has responded, throwing for 26 touchdowns and eclipsing a 60 percent completion rate. The receiving duo of Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker has also been awesome, combining for over 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns.

What went wrong: Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams were supposed to combine to provide a devastating combination around Muhammad Wilkerson, but that has not been the case. Richardson was suspended to start the year and only has four sacks, while Williams has three. If the Jets got more out of those two, they might be fighting for the AFC East title. Still, the performance has kept them in the playoff hunt.

Offseason expectations: New York needs to be looking for help in the linebacking corps along with a quality safety. Calvin Pryor has been a nice selection for the franchise, but the other slot could be upgraded. Also, the offensive line could use some reinforcements while the tight end spot needs upgrading. It’s time to keep Fitzpatrick and give him as much support as possible.
