This might be a little bit of a long shot, but Rex Ryan has reportedly already work out his welcome in Buffalo. Ryan came to the Buffalo Bills this offseason after former head coach Doug Marrone decided to opt out of his contract last December. With the opening, Ryan decided it was a good landing spot after being fired by the New York Jets, following six seasons in the Big Apple.

Ryan has been a disappointment, and he can’t stop running his massive mouth. Ryan began his tenure in Buffalo by telling everyone who would listen that the Bills would be going to the playoffs. In most cities, this wouldn’t be a huge deal. In Buffalo, where the Bills have not made it to the postseason since 1999, it was major headlines.

Of course, Ryan failed miserably to come through on that promise. Ryan had a decent start by pounding the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1, but things came off the tracks. At 5-5, Buffalo was hanging onto the edges of the playoff picture before losing three of its next four.

There has been plenty of talk that general manager Doug Whaley does not want to deal anymore with Ryan, and the feeling could be mutual. Should the Bills decide to move on, Ryan would be hard-pressed to find another job within the next few years.
