After being fired by the Philadelphia Eagles, Chip Kelly has released a statement.

Yesterday, the Philadelphia Eagles shocked the football world, when owner Jeffrey Lurie released a statement revealing that he had fired head coach Chip Kelly.

It was a shock to many, as Kelly had gone 26-21 in his first three seasons with team. However, with team getting progressively worse each season with Kelly in command, the team didn’t want to see the losing progress any further and decided to let Kelly go.

After being fired, Kelly has finally released a statement about being let go. He also made sure that everyone knew just how much the guys on his roster meant to him.

It’s a tremendous show of class by Kelly in his response. With all the things that have been said about him and his coaching style since he entered the league, he could have just as easily went down a different route with his statement.

Instead, he went the classy way out, which speaks more to his personal character than anything else. Things may have not worked out for him in Philadelphia, but he will surely land on his feet again in the pros or in college.
