The Louisville Cardinals rolled behind quarterback Lamar Jackson to a big win over the Texas A&M Aggies.

The Louisville Cardinals saved their best for last on Wednesday, when they defeated the Texas A&M Aggies in the 2015 Music City Bowl.

There was one name that stood out for the Cardinals on Wednesday night, and that was quarterback Lamar Jackson. The dual-threat quarterback made plays with both his legs and his arms for the Cardinals. He was so dynamic at running and passing on the night, that he had more yards by himself than the Aggies did as a team.

The Cardinals scored on their first possession of the game, when Jackson ran in a touchdown from six yards out. It was just that type of night for Jackson, as he had over 200 yards in the air and 200 yards on the ground, which is a rare feat in college football. The Cardinals would miss the extra point and it came into play later.

The Aggies meanwhile got off to a slow start on offense. The Aggies started the game with three straight punts on the night.

After the Aggies punted for the third straight time to begin the game, the Cardinals scored their second touchdown of the night. Down near the goal line, Jackson found Micky Crum for a two-yard strike.

The Aggies would finally find some semblance of an offense and match the Cardinals. Tre Carson would run a touchdown in from nine yards out. The Aggies had cut the deficit to 13-7.

However, just as the Cardinals did all night, they answered the Aggies’ score with a big one of their own, as Jackson kept the ball on an option and busted a 61-yard touchdown run led by his blockers.

The rest of the half was pretty stagnant, as Louisville would miss a field goal and the Aggies continued to punt a lot, but the Aggies got a touchdown back right before the end of the half, when Jake Hubenak completed a four-yard pass to Ricky Seals-Jones for a touchdown.

The Aggies would begin the second half worse than they started the first half. They fumbled and threw an interception on the first two possessions, and Louisville capitalized off the latter with a Jackson pass to Keith Towbridge for 17 yards and a touchdown.

The Aggies would miss a field goal that would have pulled them closer, but late in the fourth, they made the game tighter as Hubenak found Christian Kirk for a big touchdown pass, which saw Kirk blow past defenders for the score, to make the game just a 27-21 deficit.

With a close game and not a lot of time left, things were suddenly tighter than they had been all night. Louisville couldn’t quite put away the Aggies, which gave the Aggies one last chance on offense with the ball. After a defensive holding penalty, the Aggies were set up with good field position.

With a chance to win the game only down six because of Louisville’s missed extra point, the Aggies would appear to fall short by throwing an incomplete pass on fourth down, but a personal foul on the quarterback, gave Texas A&M a first down.

However, Louisville would hold strong and finish off the Aggies last attempt at the win, as they went on to win the game and the 2015 Music City Bowl.
