CB. LSU. Tre'Davious White. 23. player. 55.
The Pittsburgh Steelers really don’t have to look much further than their crushing loss to the Baltimore Ravens to find fault in their suddenly almost dead playoff hopes. Winning teams don’t allow a quarterback who was on the street a few weeks ago to come in, throw for a career high in yards and beat them 20-17.

That is exactly what Ryan Mallett did, and without any receivers who can be considered No. 1 or even No. 2 quality. Why was all this possible? Simple. The Steelers have one of the worst pass defenses in the league, which allows 278 yards per game. When even average quarterbacks can have big games on you, that is what happens. Pittsburgh lacks credible corners or safeties and it’s killing them.

Thus they are forced to find help in the draft. Tre’Davious White comes from a proven factory for NFL talent at LSU, especially on the defensive side. The corner has good size, plays a tough, hard-nosed game and has the athletic dimensions to play receivers man-to-man and hold his own. The Steelers will have to make sure they get him to stop playing like a gambler, taking big chances to produce big plays.
