Will 2015 be the year that the Rams finally grab that missing piece?

The St. Louis Rams have been on the cusp of the playoffs for, arguably, the four seasons.

This talented roster has underachieved time and time again. After going through multiple coaches and quarterbacks, it seemed that trading for quarterback Nick Foles would finally bring this team to the promise land.

Well, that hasn’t worked out very well.

Foles has passed for just over 2,000 yards this season in his first year as the Rams’ quarterback. The former Philadelphia Eagle has thrown only seven touchdowns while amassing 10 interceptions. After the Rams were dealt a 27-3 loss to division rival Arizona, Foles was benched for former University of Houston stud Case Keenum. Keenum has fared decently well, but the fact still remains. St. Louis is a quarterback away from making the playoffs.

St. Louis possesses two of the most dynamic playmakers in the NFL, as Todd Gurley and Tavon Austin are absolutely electric with the pigskin in their hands. In addition, St. Louis may have a potential hall-of-fame defensive tackle in Aaron Donald who is dominating the opposition at every turn.

The pieces are there for St. Louis to make a run at the NFC West crown. Could 2016 be the year that they finally make the jump?
