Chuck Pagano will reportedly coach his last game as the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

According to ESPN’s Mike Wells, the Indianapolis Colts will not retain Chuck Pagano after the 2015 season and his final game as head coach will be Sunday. The news come on the heels of the Colts having a slim chance to make playoffs with a win in Week 17.

It’s been a rough season for the Colts has they have fought through injuries to Andrew Luck and other area. Matt Hasselback stepped up in his absence, but the Colts and Pagano never lived up to expectations. Pagano’s firing will only be the beginning of many more that will come on Black Monday with more NFL coaches being let go.

Pagano’s exit would be the latest in a year that saw both Joe Philbin and Chip Kelly canned before the season ended. Pagano’s tenure with the Colts will be best known for him battling and beating cancer and leading the team to playoff appearances in 2012-2014. Yet, not living up to expectations in 2015 and his not so good relationship with the general manager have led to him being shown the door reportedly.

2015 will be the first time as head coach of the Colts that Pagano won’t lead them to the playoffs. There’s a slim chance a win can get them into the playoffs on Sunday, but they need a lot of dominoes to fall their way. Pagano likely won’t be out of a job long as multiple NFL or even NCAA teams should want his services for 2016.
