Raiders at Chiefs: Preview and prediction

Preview for the Kansas City Chiefs and Oakland Raiders.

On Sunday afternoon, the Oakland Raiders will be wrapping up their season at Arrowhead Stadium. For Oakland, it could be the last game the team ever plays before moving to Los Angeles, although the odds seem to say the team will remain in its current location for at least one more year.

The Raiders have made strides this season with second-year quarterback Derek Carr, sporting a 7-8 record. Carr has a pair of solid wide receivers in Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree, making the Raiders a dangerous team to deal with down the field. This leads us to our matchups of the game, with that duo facing one of the best secondaries in the National Football League.

Kansas City is devastating against the pass, led by corners Sean Smith and Marcus Peters, and safety Eric Berry. Smith is perhaps the most underrated player at his position across the league, while Peters earned a Pro Bowl berth in his rookie campaign, leading the league with eight interceptions.

The Chiefs are hoping to finish the regular season with a 10th consecutive victory, and one that could win them the AFC West depending on other results. Kansas City has something to play for, so expect it to come out with plenty of fight. These two teams always play each other tough, but the Chiefs are the better team and they are at home.

Pick: Kansas City 23, Oakland 16
