Week 17 NFL picks.

The National Football League’s regular season is coming to a close on Sunday, with all 32 teams in action. After the day is done, 20 will be heading home for a long winter, with those franchises faced with the prospects of having to make a series of moves to be competitors.

The question remains which of the Pittsburgh Steelers or New York Jets will be heading home, and who goes to the postseason. Pittsburgh was in control of its own destiny before Week 16’s disaster against the Baltimore Ravens, and now needs help to get into the dance. The Steelers are visiting the Cleveland Browns and one would imagine they will have ample fire this time around.

However, Pittsburgh needs the New York Jets to lose on the road against Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills. New York has been rolling, coming off a win in overtime over the New England Patriots. Should the Jets win, they will either be the fifth or sixth seed in the AFC, depending on other outcomes.

As you can see, we all believe Pittsburgh wins but the hope is dim that the Jets fall apart in the final Sunday. Then again, these are crazy times.

Elsewhere, the group is fairly torn on whether the Minnesota Vikings or Green Bay Packers will win the NFC North title, with the two teams meeting for a winner-take-all match at Lambeau Field on Sunday Night Football.
