In a battle of two of the worst teams in the NBA, the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers both sit at the bottom of their respective conferences with a combined 9-58 record. This game is going to be nothing more than a confidence booster for one team.

Quite possibly the worst team in league history, the 76ers are just 3-31 with no end to the poor play in sight, although they have won two out of their past three games on their trip out west. Yes, Philly began the season just 1-30, but it’s heating up with three victories in 34 games.

The roster is loaded with young talent, so it’s hard to see the 76ers being this bad for a long period of time, but lottery picks haven’t helped up to this point. Rookie Jahlil Okafor has a bright future on the court, leading the team with 17.3 points and 7.9 rebounds while Nerlens Noel is also solid.

Los Angeles is, unfortunately, playing in its last season with Kobe Bryant leading the squad. He’s set to retire at the end of the 2015-16 season and this isn’t exactly the way he thought he’d go out. The Lakers aren’t going to sniff the playoffs this season and that’s too bad for the team’s leading scorer.

The legend is averaging 17.2 points and 3.4 assists — both of which are surprisingly team-highs. Just like the Sixers, though, the Lakers have a wealth of young talent which will act as building blocks for the future of the franchise.
