Christian McCaffrey’s Rose Bowl performance received plenty of praise from NFL stars.
In Friday’s Rose Bowl game, the Stanford Cardinal crushed the Iowa Hawkeyes, 45-16. The game was out of reach at halftime with Stanford being up 35-0.
Stanford was led by one of the nation’s best running backs in Christian McCaffrey. He set a Rose Bowl record for all-purpose yards, topping the 346-yard mark set by Wisconsin’s Jared Abbrederis in 2012 against Oregon. This capped off a terrific season for the Heisman Trophy runner-up.
McCaffrey has to stay in school for at least one more year, so he will be eligible to enter the 2017 NFL Draft. When he does declare, he will be a highly-touted prospect looking to bolster an NFL team’s offense.
NFL players who watched today’s Rose Bowl game are already aware of what this future draft pick can do. They took to Twitter to comment on his performance.
Former Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram of the New Orleans Saints weighed in.
McCaffrey is no joke. Don't get to watch him much being on west coast, but he is as advertised. 6 touches, 140 yds, Td in 2 series. #Respect

Former Michigan State star quarterback Kirk Cousins of the Washington Redskins praised McCaffrey as well.
Stanford's Christian McCaffrey reminds me of @TheIowaHawkeyes legend Tim Dwight. Dude could score anytime he touched the ball. #RoseBowl

Other players shared their thoughts too.
Christian McCaffery. Nothing More Needs To Be Said

McCaffrey, Perine, Fournette, Chubb, Cook. What a ridiculous sophopmore RB class.

That sophomore class of running backs is indeed ridiculous. They will headline what is sure to be a deep 2017 draft. Can’t we just skip the 2016 NFL Draft or include these guys in?
