Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez took police on a high-speed chase, which featured speeds up to 124 miles per hour.

James Rodriguez took the world by storm in the 2014 World Cup, with his performance for his native Colombia. The midfielder is great at attacking from out wide and is one of the most talented young players in the world today.

He’s also going to be in a bit of trouble as well. According to Madrid newspaper AS, Rodriguez led police on a high-speed chase on his way to the team’s facility.

"With the police calling for the striker to stop on their car loudspeaker, “Pull over on the right! Pull over on the right!”, James refused to stop and managed to enter the facilities. The police car, an undercover unit, was stopped at the entrance to the Valdebebas grounds by the private security on duty at the gate. The police officers’ explanation as to the reason for the pursuit of James was heard loud and clear by the media: “We were chasing him at 200km/h on the M-40 [motorway]!”"

For those that don’t want to do the conversion, 200 kilometers per hour is roughly 124 miles per hour. That means that Rodriguez was doing his absolute best to get away from the police.

There was also even a video of police arriving at Real Madrid’s facility as they pursued Rodriguez. Police were stopped at the gate, but were eventually let in.

It’s unclear what will happen to Rodriguez for leading police on a high-speed chase at dangerous speeds, but there will probably be some sort of hefty fine or ticket that he will have to pay at the least.
