Stanford Cardinal cornerback Quenton Meeks returned a pick-six 66 yards to extend Stanford’s lead over Iowa.
The Iowa Hawkeyes are officially in panic mode in the Rose Bowl.
After two early offensive scores by the Stanford Cardinal, the Hawkeyes were looking to put up points of their own on the board, as they tried to pull themselves back into the game early. That’s when Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard made a big mistake.
Eyeing down his receiver, Beathard threw the ball right into the hands of Stanford cornerback Quenton Meeks. Meeks would return the ball for a 66-yard pick-six and the rout was on in Pasadena.
This is how we play football out on the West Coast.

This was supposed to be a tight battle between two tough and physical teams. Thus far, Stanford’s been the only tough and physical team that has shown up to play.
It was an impressive play by Meeks to jump in front of the receiver and extend his arms to pick off the pass. The Cardinal showed no signs off letting off the gas and early, which put the Hawkeyes in desperation mode. The Rose Bowl was meant to be a classic, but Stanford turned it into a massacre early, thanks to Meeks and his incredible interception.
