O.J. Mayo gets ejected, has to be restrained by Bucks players and coaches (Video)
Bucks guard O.J. Mayo had to be restrained from charging refs after he was given second technical and ejected
The Milwaukee Bucks have been a strange team for most of the start of the 2015-16 NBA season. After coming into the year with huge expectations off of their overachievements last season, the Bucks have been a bizarre, worse version of themselves after the addition of Greg Monroe. However, O.J. Mayo provided the strangest moment yet on Friday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Early in the first quarter, Mayo was hit with a technical foul. Then, during a timeout, he was hit with another one and was ejected. Some part of this made the veteran guard absolutely irate, though, and he tried to charge at the officials—so much so that his coaches and teammates had to legitimately pull him back and restrain him:
The craziest part about this is that no one, not even those in the arena, understands what set Mayo off to the point that he was ready to go after the refs. Obviously he was probably upset over being ejected, but this seemed like much more than that. Either way, it’s definitely a bad look.
An ejection is never a good thing, but this bit of extra-curricular activity after the ejection will likely earn Mayo a hefty fine and possibly a suspension. Maybe we’ll also find out why exactly he got so damn angry.
