Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants

The Philadelphia Eagles fired Chip Kelly (or parted ways with, I suppose) earlier this week as they are ready to head into a new direction at head coach. Meanwhile, a team with equally disappointing results this season in the rival New York Giants will also be saying goodbye to a coach as Tom Coughlin is expected to resign after these two teams face off on Sunday Night Football in Week 17 from MetLife Stadium.

Eli Manning will undoubtedly be looking to come out full force for Coughlin’s final game as the Giants head coach and you have to expect that Odell Beckham Jr. will be looking to do the same as well. The Eagles, on the other hand, will be trying to prove a point that Kelly was doing more harm than good in Philly. Sam Bradford, DeMarco Murray and company can do that by picking up a big Week 17 win.

Keys to Victory

The key for both teams in this game is going to be getting a defensive stop as they are two of the three worst total defenses in the NFL this season. For the Giants, though, it’s also going to be vital that they establish some semblance of a rushing attack with Rashad Jennings. That’s not something that they’ve done consistently this season, but something that’ll be necessary come Sunday.

For the Eagles, it’s going to be hugely important that Sam Bradford limit his mistakes. While he’s shown flashes all season of high quality play, it’s always come crashing down in a very loud way. If Philadelphia is going to pick up a win in the season finale, they’re going to need the quarter back to avoid that type of meltdown.

Prediction

I would have likely taken the Giants in this game regardless because I think they are the better football team with the matchup advantage. However, with this likely being Tom Coughlin’s last game in New York, I’m even more in favor of that as I think the Giants go out there and try to win one for their long-time head coach.

Final Score: Philadelphia Eagles: 27, New York Giants: 38
