High Salary D

Kevin Shattenkirk-St. Louis Blues ($6,400): Shattenkirk has been a very solid producer from the blueline for both the Blues and his fantasy owners. He has scored seven goals and dished out 17 assists with an average of 3.8 fantasy points a game. Shattenkirk has recorded points in two of his last three games and faces a great matchup tonight with Ottawa. The Senators are ranked 28th against opposing defensemen.

Justin Faulk-Carolina Hurricanes ($6,300): Faulk is in the middle of a three-game pointless stretch but he still deserves consideration for fantasy lineups. He’s one of the best fantasy options on the Hurricanes and has shown a knack for offensive production from his defenseman position. Faulk gets a good matchup with Edmonton, a team ranked 26th in points allowed to defensemen.

High Value D

Drew Doughty-LA Kings ($5,700): Doughty is having a great season for the Kings with 24 points in 38 games. He picked up his seventh goal of the year on Saturday and now has points in four of his last five games. His salary has risen as he has started producing but it’s still at a good price for what he can give you. Doughty is averaging 3.3 fantasy points a game and will look to up that tonight in Colorado.

Michael Stone-Arizona Coyotes ($4,000): Stone flys under the radar but has been very effective over the last week. He has points in four of his last five games and six points in his last eight games. He is averaging just under three fantasy points a game and while he won’t normally be a fantasy beast for your lineup, he has scored at least four fantasy points in three of the last four games. Defenseman is a position where you can always find great value. Use Stone tonight and spend big elsewhere.
