When the NFL regular season ends, you always look for the teams that were really an utter disappointment. Well, one of those teams was most certainly the Detroit Lions.

They did get the win on Sunday over the Chicago Bears in Week 17, but that win gave them a finishing record of just 7-9, a record that not a lot of people saw coming. Last season this team earned a trip to the playoffs and things were looking up, but then this year happened and now a lot of people are just scratching their heads in disbelief.

Led by Matt Stafford, this team showed that usual explosiveness at times, but they were wildly inconsistent more often than not. For the past few seasons this was the unit that really got this team rolling, and this season they really couldn’t put together any dominant stretches. Whatever issues that need to be addressed in that regard will be the top priority this off-season.

Defensively they weren’t all that impressive either, and that really didn’t have anything to do with the loss of Ndamukong Suh specifically. As a complete unit, they were just horrid at times.

Is this a team that can get some things back on track for next year? They are with the pieces they have, but areas of need really need to be addressed this off-season and the offense needs to pick themselves up off the ground.
. (7-9). Previous: . Detroit Lions. 23. team. 50
