team. 30. <p>Oh, Jets, not like this.</p> <p>Coming into Week 17, the New York Jets had one job and that was to beat the Buffalo Bills and they’d earn themselves a trip to the playoffs. Instead, they came out on the losing end in a close one to finish off their season at 10-6.</p> <p>Leave it up to Rex Ryan to ruin the Jets’ playoff hopes, right?</p> <p>Still, despite failing to get the job done, this Jets team showed some promise in the first year under Todd Bowles. 10-6 was one hell of a run for this team, and for the most part, Ryan Fitzpatrick was a nice little surprise at quarterback. He might not be the answer for the next 10-15 years in New York, but he showed that he can get the job done.</p> <p>It also didn’t hurt that Brandon Marshall turned in one of the best performances of his career this year to help this team be successful.</p> <p>So, while the disappointment is very real for Jets fans on Sunday following the loss, especially to Rex of all people, there were a lot of signs this year that the future is quite bright for this organization. Whether or not they prove that theory correct remains to be seen, but the pieces are indeed there — that was proven this season.</p>. (10-6). Previous: . New York Jets. 10
