45. In todays NLF, I hesitate to draft running backs. It seems like teams can now find a franchise back in the day two rounds or pay the average free agent to handle the workload with no problem. However, I would be remissed to not have Ezekiel Elliott in the first round.

While he was not a Heisman candidate like Derrick Henry, his electric play making for the Buckeyes is incredibly unique. He ran for four touchdowns in Ohio State’s win against Notre Dame in last weeks Fiesta Bowl. That’s an incredible feat for anyone to score four touchdowns in a game, let alone on a solid team like Notre Dame.

The Broncos will have a multitude of free agents available on the open market this season, including running backs Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson. While both have done a respectable job in Denver, neither can compare to what Elliott gives you. A dynamic runner with speed, excellent vision and the ability to break away from defenders with ease. He is truly a special players and Gary Kubiak would love to have a running back like him in his offense. A great value pick for Denver with the second to last pick of the first round.

Previous Pick: Derrick Henry, RB
. Running Back. Ohio State. Ezekiel Elliott. 30. player
