1. New England Patriots

The New England Patriots might not have much projected cap space for 2016, but there’s no one quite as good at making personnel moves as Bill Belichick. He can make the moves necessary to bringing in free agents and is one of the players at shifting drafting picks around.

Without a first-round pick in the draft, the Patriots don’t have to commit as much money to the draft. That leaves them with the ability to spend a little more in free agency if they want to. The Patriots have had a hard time dealing with injuries in 2015, which has left Tom Brady throwing the ball to guys who can’t really catch.

If they could add a superstar piece like Calvin Johnson, then the Patriots would become an even more lethal team already. With Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman as weapons on offense, the Patriots have two dynamic players that can catch a lot of passes and score a lot of touchdowns.

With a receiver like Johnson out there as well, Brady would have another target he could rely on, which makes the Patriots all the more terrifying.

There’s a reason the Patriots are always linked to the top receivers in the league. With one like Johnson, Brady could continue to create a lasting legacy on the field for himself and help strengthen Johnson’s legacy as a player as well.
