3. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have spent big and have a lot of talent on the roster. Unfortunately, no one has been able to get the most out of the talent on the roster. When the Dolphins are shrewd and committed, they have shown that they can be a competitive team in the NFL.

The problem is that they haven’t shown the effort recently and while interim coach Dan Campbell got something out of the Dolphins for a while, he wasn’t able to sustain it. The Dolphins will also find out as they go forward if Ryan Tannehill is really the quarterback of the future.

The Dolphins have never been afraid to shell out the big bucks to bring talent in and if newly promoted general manager Chris Grier can nail the hire, then perhaps the Dolphins can finally make the postseason in 2016.

They have players on the roster who can excel. That’s nothing new for Miami, but supporting that talent with quality drafts and creating depth is what the Dolphins desperately need. When a team spends money like Miami, it means it is going to have to sacrifice in spots, making drafting more important.

It’s clear the Dolphins need a coach that can motivate and keep guys disciplined. That’s going to be the real obstacle in Miami.
