4. Elvis Grbac

Elvis has entered the building. When asking our resident Chiefs expert if he wanted to write up the slide on Elvis Grbac he claimed that even attempting to recall the 1997-98 AFC Divisional game at home against the Denver Broncos would either send him into a catatonic state or force him to march blindly into traffic. No half measures.“

At nine years old it was the moment in life when I realized that I was screwed as a sports fan.”Given that state of emotion, it’s amazing to see Elvis so high on the list. Tells you all you need to know about the parade of fools that have marched through Arrowhead since Joe Cool was in town.

3. Rich Gannon

Rich Gannon was the centerpiece in a pair of Kansas City quarterback controversies during the mid-90s. First it was he and Steve Bono, then it was Gannon and Grbac. Ultimately Elvis would take the stage and Gannon would be sent packing.

All he would do in his Chiefs afterlife is lead the franchise’s arch-rival, the Oakland Raiders, to a Super Bowl and collect a league MVP and two NFL Offensive Player of the Year awards. That’s pretty much all you need to know about the Chiefs and this factory of sadness – they gave up on a future league MVP for a guy who shares his name with a legend that died on the crapper.
