Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson will be replacing Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson in the Pro Bowl.

A Jacksonville Jaguar is going to the Pro Bowl.

After a season of progress in Jacksonville, which saw young players taking that next step and making the franchise more competitive, one player will be representing the Jaguars in Hawaii.

After it was reported that Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is considering retirement, the league selected Jaguars wide receiver Allen Robinson as his replacement.

Many people were surprised that Robinson wasn’t selected in the first place, when he finished with 1,400 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2015. The good news is that people don’t need to be outraged any further, as Robinson will be representing in the Pro Bowl.

While Johnson has been to plenty of Pro Bowls already in his career, it’s a great reward for Robinson, who is just 22 years old and is quickly becoming one of the elite wide receivers in the game.

Replacing Johnson makes sense, as he is about to make the biggest decision of his career. Giving it to a young man that deserves it just as much is even better and something that Johnson would probably want.

Plenty of times there are hard working players that deserve to go to the Pro Bowl, but plenty are snubbed each season. Robinson was initially snubbed a selection, but now he has a chance to enjoy the wonderful weather and have fun with the superstars of the league.
