The NFL Hall of Fame announced 15 finalists for the class of 2016.

We’re getting closer to hearing who the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2016 will be, as Canton announced this year’s 15 finalists on Thursday night. Unsurprisingly, Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre — who will easily be a part of this year’s class — was named among the finalists along with Terrell Owens and Alan Faneca.

All three are first time nominees for Canton.

Joining Favre, Faneca and Owens are:

  • Kurt Warner
  • Kevin Greene
  • Tony Dungy
  • John Lynch
  • Orlando Pace
  • Marvin Harrison
  • Morten Anderson
  • Steve Atwater
  • Terrell Davis
  • Joe Jacoby
  • Edgerrin James
  • Don Coryell

Only five members will be named to the Hall of Fame, which is good news for Lynch, Dungy, Warner and Greene. They all missed the cut last year but are merely waiting for the year they get into Canton rather than wondering if it will happen. Favre might be the only new lock for the Hall, which is even better news for the four other front runners who are hoping to get in.

Of course, it’s all up to the voters, but it’s looking very much like this year’s Hall of Fame class will feature some of the most entertaining players of the 90s and early 2000s that the NFL featured.
