Even though he’s not on the field, Le’Veon Bell is still seeing his jersey fly off the shelves.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell came into the season recognized as one of the best at his position in the league, but unfortunately his season did not have a happy ending. Back on November 1 during a game against the NFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals, Bell suffered a knee injury that would bring an early end to his campaign.

When a player goes down with injury like that, he loses a lot. Aside from the obvious answer of losing playing time on the field with his teammates, especially with a team like the Steelers who were making a run at the playoffs, he loses some popularity among the fans. Of course, that means he might see a significant drop in his jersey sales.

Well, that didn’t really seem to be the case with Bell.

According to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report, which reflects sales both nationwide and online, despite being out the past few weeks rehabbing from this terrible injury, Bell remained inside the Top 20 of jersey sales to end the season. With the regular season now closed out, Bell came in at the No. 16 spot.

All things considered, that’s actually not too bad at all. There have been players around the league in the past who suffered season-ending injuries and saw their jersey sales take a complete free fall. For Bell and what he was going through, No. 16 is not a bad place to be for the time being.

When he returns to the field at full strength next season, you can bet that he will be right into that Top 10 in no time at all.
