A Cincinnati radio station took the Steelers-Bengals rivalry way too far when they issued a Ben Roethlisberger rape warning to all women 18 to 40 years old.

The Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers rivalry is about to hit a boiling point on Saturday as the two teams square off in Cincinnati in the first round of the NFL playoffs. A Cincinnati radio station took the rivalry way too far when they started issuing “rape warnings” for all females 18 to 40 years old because Ben Roethlisberger is in town.

Here’s a transcript of part of the warning from BroBible:

"“The Steelers quarterback has been spotted in the downtown Cincinnati area. All females ages 18-40 are to use extreme caution, especially if heavily consuming alcohol. Males should also be on the lookout just in case.”"

It really is a shame that there are people out there who have to make jokes about such a horrible thing as rape. Forget that Ben Roethlisberger was never found guilty of raping anyone. That’s not important. Rape is not something that anyone should be joking about. It’s a horrible, traumatic crime. Telling rape jokes is a slap in the face to every person who has had the horror of being sexually assaulted or raped. There are plenty of ways to be funny that are not offensive and don’t alienate victims of one of the most heinous crimes that someone can commit.
