player. 55.
The Steelers have long prided themselves on their stout defense, starting in the Steel Curtain days and continuing into the most recent era with Troy Polamalu and James Harrison. But at some point the Steelers are going to need to roll over into the next era of defense and the pieces for that are starting to get put into place through the draft.

Players like Bud Dupree and Ryan Shazier have been drafted to be pillars in the next generation of Steelers defense. Cornerback Kendall Fuller could be another huge piece of that future in Pittsburgh.

Right now William Gay needs someone on the other side of him who everyone can have confidence in shutting down the opposing passing attack, and Fuller is about as good as they come. His brother Kyle is already making the family proud with the Bears and now it’s time for Kendall to continue that legacy. Pittsburgh has run stoppers but they’re in a conference where Alex Smith is remembering that he can throw downfield, Derek Carr has Amari Cooper and others to dice you up with and Tom Brady is still Tom Brady. He won’t complete the defense, but he can take the Steelers one step closer to being a stout unit that can support whatever points Big Ben’s offense gets them.
. CB. Virginia Tech. Kendall Fuller. 25
