People haven’t been too thrilled with the Pac-12 refs work in the National Championship Game.

It was a strange decision when referees from the Pac-12 were made the officials for the National Championship Game between the Clemson Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide.

Pac-12 officials have had a long history of embarrassing gaffes on the field and it’s no surprise that they had some trouble in the title game as well.

Late in the first half, the clock started running on the field before refs even set the ball after a first down and they charged a timeout to Clemson, who was forced to use a timeout because because the clock ran prematurely.

With another shining moment by Pac-12 officials, social media was ablaze as they roasted the refs.

It’s clear that it wasn’t the best half for the Pac-12 refs. They potentially cost Clemson three points by making them  burn a timeout on the field and Dabo Swinney wasn’t happy as he yelled at referees.

At this point, everyone should have seen this coming with the refs. They’ve been terrible for years and now everyone is seeing on the national stage just how bad they are for conference officials.

It’s a championship game and the fact that it could come down to a call from officials is scary. Twitter isn’t happy to say the least.
