1. He has more touchdowns than eight current Hall of Fame wide receivers

The Pro Football Hall of Fame has the greatest players of all time at every single position enshrined in Canton, Ohio. These players are inducted based on their individual statistics and how they impacted their team’s success, among other things. If players match these statistics, or beat them, they should be automatically considered for entrance into the Hall of Fame.

Calvin Johnson has two huge records that we previously discussed that will help his case to become a first ballot Hall of Famer. Johnson holds the most receiving yards in a single season, and he is the quickest player to ever reach 10,000 receiving yards. Both of these will assist Johnson, but this next statistic will be the deciding factor in Johnson’s Hall of Fame induction. Johnson has more receiving touchdowns than eight current wide receivers in the Hall of Fame… you read that right, eight.

Here is the list of those receivers that Johnson already has beat: James Loften (75), Cris Carter (80), Art Monk (79), Michael Irvin (65), Raymond Berry (68), Charley Taylor (79), Fred Biletnikoff (76),  and John Stallworth (74). Johnson currently has 83 receiving touchdowns in just nine seasons with a team that has had two winning season in the past nine years, while having a total of seven different quarterbacks throwing him the football.
