Alabama defeated Clemson in the College Football Playoff National Championship and Twitter had thoughts on the win

The Alabama Crimson Tide were favored against the Clemson Tigers heading into the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday night, but they didn’t look like the favorites for the whole affair. The two teams were deadlocked at 14-14 at halftime and Clemson was ahead going into the fourth quarter. However, a huge fourth quarter from the offense and especially the special teams carried the Tide to victory.

Not that Clemson didn’t try to make it dramatic with a try at a comeback, but the Crimson Tide just had too many big plays in their arsenal and too much of an ability to capitalize on the big moments that presented themselves.

This is familiar territory for the Crimson Tide as this was their fourth title in the last seven years. Nick Saban has coached up one of the most dominant and dynastic forces in the history of college football down in Tuscaloosa and this was yet another reminder of that.

Even still, that didn’t mean people were going to be silent about the Tide’s win on Monday night over Clemson. In fact, the good users of Twitter had plenty to say on the matter:

"When everyone tells you all day about how Alabama is going to lose."

And of course, the obligatory message:

Roll Tide, indeed.
