The St. Louis Stadium Task Force has commented on the Rams’ departure from the city.

There is much jubilation in the Los Angeles area and the NFL now that the Rams are back in Los Angeles. On Tuesday night, by a vote of 30-2, the Rams were officially welcomed back to the Los Angeles area. The Rams will eventually have a new stadium in Inglewood but will play in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

While the Rams leaving for Los Angeles is great for the city and the NFL, it’s bad for St. Louis, who has once again lost another professional football franchise. After the city did everything that they could to try to keep the team, they lost the Rams anyway and the St. Louis Stadium Task Force is not happy with the league’s decision to move the Rams to the NFL.

The St. Louis Stadium Task Force issued a statement after it was announced that the Rams would be moving to Los Angeles.

"Today’s decision by the NFL concludes a flawed process that ends with the unthinkable result of St. Louis losing the Rams. Over the past 15 months, our stadium task force has delivered in every respect to what the NFL demanded of St. Louis to keep our team.  More important, over the past 21 seasons, most of them dire, St. Louis has been remarkably supportive of and faithful to the Rams.  We will leave it to the NFL to explain how this could happen and hope the next city that may experience what St. Louis has endured will enjoy a happier and more appropriate outcome. Here in St. Louis and throughout our region, we are incredibly grateful for the energy and support we received during this journey. What St. Louis was able to accomplish in a very, very short time was, and is, amazing.  That our collective efforts will not be rewarded, or recognized, is very unfortunate.  We all deserve better, but never forget that we just showed everyone and ourselves what St. Louis is capable of achieving.  The best days for St. Louis are not far away."

While it can be argued just how great the fans were to the Rams in St. Louis recently with a half-empty stadium, the city did do everything in their power to keep the Rams in town.

They even had their own proposal ready to keep the Rams in town. However, with owner Stan Kroenke wanting to do everything that he could to move the Rams back to Los Angeles, it’s not a surprise that the Rams left the city.

Even worse for St. Louis, they still owe payments on the Edward Jones Dome and now don’t have a viable tenant for the stadium.
