After another losing season, one fan reacts to the perpetual rebuilding of the Cleveland Browns in the form of a video.

It’s no news to anyone that the Cleveland Browns are a franchise stuck in a perpetual rebuilding phase. After firing head coach Rob Chudzinski after one season, his successor, Mike Pettine, is already gone, after going 10-22 in his short two-season tenure in Cleveland.

General manager Ray Farmer has also been fired. Jimmy Haslem and the rest of the Browns management want to press the restart button once again. They have hired former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator, Hue Jackson, who will almost surely move on from Manziel, who has struggled with many well-documented off the field issues, including alcohol abuse, excessive partying, and lying to the front office. He also largely struggled adapting to the NFL’s pace of play. This cycle of rebuilding seems to doom the careers of coaches and quarterbacks, alike. Not to mention how it affects the fan base, who have suffered through fifteen losing seasons since their return to the NFL in 1999. This video captures the cynicism of the fan base well:

At this point, the only sure thing that the Browns can achieve is playing 16 games next season. Maybe hiring a divisional rival offensive coordinator as their head coach will help catapult the Cleveland into a winning season. Considering that he will likely have to draft another quarterback and begin another rebuild, and probably won’t be given more than two years to do so, the prospects aren’t good. The Johnny Manziel era is over. The Browns need a new quarterback and a new general manager. Consistency can’t be achieved in Cleveland. Not coincidentally, winning can’t either. At least they have LeBron back, though. I hope they take solace in that.
