Tom Brady made Eric Berry look silly with a pump fake before finding Rob Gronkowski for a touchdown pass

The New England Patriots knew that they needed to try and close the door as best they could on Saturday evening against the Kansas City Chiefs in their Divisional matchup. Early in the third quarter with the Patriots already ahead 14-6, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski tried to do just that by connecting for a big play that made Pro-Bowler Eric Berry look silly in the process.

With the Pats already in the red zone, the Chiefs secondary was playing tight on the New England receivers with Berry matched up on Gronk out to the left. However, as Gronkowski curled quickly, Brady pump faked and Berry broke hard. The Pats tight end on the other hand had already gotten out of the hitch and was left wide-open to catch an easy pass for his second touchdown on the night:

That was just perfection in every way with the quarterback and tight end in perfect sync. Brady’s pump fake isn’t as effective if Gronk’s hitch isn’t as beautifully run and vice versa. Whoever deserves more of the credit is relatively irrelevant, though. All that matters is that the Patriots went up 21-6 because of the score and that Eric Berry needs to make sore he picks up his cleats that he got faked out of before he runs back to the sidelines.
