NFL.com publishes Pittsburgh Steelers facing off against the New England Patriots in next week’s AFC Championship game.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were driving down the field with a 13-12 lead with just over five minutes remaining in the game. The Steelers had the Denver Broncos’ defense on their heels before third-string running back Fitzgerald Toussaint fumbled in the open field. One of Denver’s defensive backs was able to punch at Toussaint, knocking the ball free for the Broncos to jump on. The Steelers could have potentially scored a touchdown on that drive, which would have put the game away for the Steelers.

Peyton Manning was able to lead the Broncos right down the field to set them up inside the three-yard line with a chance to punch it in to take the lead. C.J. Anderson was finally able to punch it in on his third try after Manning hurried his team up to the line catching the Steelers off guard. The Steelers had a shot with 3:00 left on the clock, but the Broncos were able to sack Ben Roethlisberger on fourth down to end the game.

Once the game went final, NFL.com published the final score and who was in next week’s AFC Championship on their site and all over social media. The Broncos won 23-16, which was correctly published on NFL.com, but take a closer look at who’s in the AFC Championship game. I have a feeling an upset Pittsburgh Steelers fan had something to do with this mistake.
