Ish Smith and Nerlens Noel end Lou Amundson on alley-oop (Video)
The Philadelphia 76ers‘ Ish Smith and Nerlens Noel ended New York Knicks forward Lou Amundson with a nasty alley-oop.
The Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks got the annual slate of NBA games on Martin Luther King Day off to a great start on Monday. The two teams played a classic that spanned multiple overtimes and had several impressive plays between two teams that boast some impressive young talent.
During an exciting first overtime, the recently acquired Ish Smith continued to dazzle on the court with some impressive assists to his teammates. His most beautiful dish came at the expense of putting the Knicks’ Lou Amundson on a highlight reel forever.
With the taller Langston Galloway draped over him, Smith made an incredible leaping alley-oop up to his center Nerlens Noel.
Noel went up with just his left hand and put down the alley-oop right over Amundson.
The chemistry between Smith and Noel on that play was like they had been together for five years and not five weeks. Before the 76ers acquired Smith this season, there was absolutely no cohesion among the team on the court in Philadelphia and they were well on their way to setting an NBA record for the worst season of all time.
Now with Smith, the 76ers look like they’re going to add a lot more wins than what it looked like they were heading for this season. To the surprise of everyone, there is some very competitive basketball finally being played in Philadelphia finally.
The move is paying off for Philadelphia and their young talent like Noel.
