Nick Saban spends time with recruit by beating him at pop-a-shot.

Nick Saban has had quite a good January. On the 11th, he earned his fifth National Championship, when he led his Alabama Crimson Tide team to a victory against the Clemson Tigers. After winning his fourth National Championship for his current program, it appears that Saban is celebrating the achievement by continuing to recruit. He never stops, and he also seems to never lose. This is evidenced by recruit AJ Brown’s twitter post about a pop a shot competition between the highly regarded wide receiver prospect and the famously competitive head coach.

"Me and coach Saban(The Goat"

The as of yet undeclared four star prospect out of Starkville, Mississippi just took a visit to Tuscaloosa. He has offers from Alabama, Mississippi State, USC, Ole Miss, and LSU, among many others. Later tweets revealed that Saban had won the competition. This isn’t surprising, as he doesn’t like to lose, and doesn’t experience it often. Brown even admitted that Saban is The Goat (The Greatest of All Time). While this was likely a reference to Saban’s place among the upper echelon of college football coaches, it could also be referring to his ability at pop a shot.

Brown remains likely to commit to Mississippi State, as he is a Starkville native. He did have this to say about his trip to Tuscaloosa, though.

"Alabama was great.Enjoyed myself. That's all y'all need to know (Reporters)"

Brown remains a top target for Saban and the Crimson Tide. Ranked 69th in the ESPN 300, his abilities on the field would round out another top 10 recruiting class for Alabama and infuse young offensive talent into one that lost Derrick Henry and others to either graduation or the NFL. Like pop a shot, Saban wins football games. And, now that he has won five National Championships, he has recently begun to smile, as well.
