Nebraska has gotten the better of Michigan State this year, and they let them know about it on Twitter.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers have had a wonderful time spoiling Michigan State’s seasons in football and basketball this year. Although the Spartans earned a trip to the College Football Playoff, they inexplicably lost to the Cornhuskers on what was essentially a Hail Mary from Tommy Armstrong Jr. It was their only regular season loss.

On Wednesday, Michigan State, who at one point was ranked No. 1 in all of college basketball, lost to Nebraska, 72-71. The Cornhuskers used this victory as an opportunity to rub in the fresh upset and bring back memories from the football season with this Twitter post.

After Wednesday’s loss in East Lansing, Tom Izzo’s Spartans have now dropped three straight. They stand at 3-4 in the Big 1o. Nebraska is 12-8 on the season thus far, but are on a four-game winning streak. Nebraska basketball is perennially overlooked in favor of the football team.

But the Cornhuskers have underwhelmed in both basketball and football this season. Playing the spoiler for Michigan State has arguably been the highlights of both seasons. But maybe this win could put their season on the right trajectory, give them momentum to end their season strong.

Nebraska won on Wednesday behind 28 points from Shavon Shields. He is averaging 15.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game.

Michigan State’s star, Denzel Valentine, did all he could earn the conference victory. Even his 24 points, and his off balance three pointer that got the Spartans within one with five seconds left, wasn’t enough. The team from East Lansing looks to climb out of their slump. Seeing the Cornhuskers’ tweet about their victories in bother sports, however, won’t likely help.
