87. 15. 32. Final. 49

The Carolina Panthers and the Arizona Cardinals squared off in the NFC Championship game. It had the very difficult task of trying to live up to the AFC Championship game between the Patriots and the Broncos. Carolina started off where they left off last week against the Seattle Seahawks by scoring on their first three possessions. Carolina never let up and were relentless all night long.

This was a truly dominant performance by Carolina. Their entire team dominated, both offense and defense. Carolina was clearly the superior team. The Cardinals fought valiantly, but no one was stopping Carolina from going into the Super Bowl. Thomas Davis had to leave the game due to an arm injury. It remains to be seen how serious the injury is.

Three stars

  1. Cam Newton had an outstanding game. He threw for 335 yards and two touchdowns. He also added two rushing touchdowns and 47 rushing yards.
  2. Corey Brown helped set the tone early on. He had four receptions for 133 yards and an 86 yard touchdown that gave the Panthers a 17-0 lead.
  3. Safety Kurt Coleman led the Panthers defense with four tackles and two interceptions.
