DeMarcus Cousins threw down an enormous dunk on Marvin Williams through contact

The Sacramento Kings and the Charlotte Hornets weren’t really interested in playing a whole lot of defense on Monday night. Even if they were, there’s probably nothing that the Hornets would have been able to do about Kings center DeMarcus Cousins. Cousins had a career night on his home floor, but perhaps his best play came in overtime when his team needed a big bucket.

After the Hornets took a two-point lead to start overtime, Rajon Rondo threw a lob to Cousins who had a severe size advantage over Charlotte forward Marvin Williams in the post. Williams tried to contest on the lob, but his contact didn’t faze Boogie as Cousins powered through and put down a monstrous two-handed jam for the and-one:

There’s nothing that 99 percent of the players in the NBA can do about that kind of explosion and power in the post, which is why DeMarcus Cousins is as dangerous of a player as he is.

After Cousins knocked down the free throw, he had officially notched his first 50-point game of his career to go along with a double-double in rebounds. As the extra time wore on, he only added to his total to the tune of a Kings franchise record, all against a Hornets team that had no answer for him. In fairness, there might not be any team in the NBA that does, either.
