Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he won’t rush to make any transfers before the deadline.

The January transfer window deadline is quickly approaching and some teams desperate for help might rush to make a move. Liverpool won’t be one of those clubs according to manager Jurgen Klopp.

Given their string of less than inspiring results, and the growing slate of games as they advance in the FA Cup, Capital One Cup and the return of the Europa League, Liverpool might be keen to add some players for some depth. The club is also dealing with injuries keeping them short-handed.

Despite all of that, Klopp won’t rush to make any transfers.

“It should not be the reason [to sign players], one game more,” Klopp told the club’s website. “Since the last game against West Ham, we have had three or four games more. But we could rest the team that played against Stoke.

“They had today off and that’s good, so we will again have fresh legs against Leicester. That’s the good news. In this moment the draw doesn’t feel too brilliant, but when we go to West Ham, we will see the chance to go into the next round again.

“It’s an intensive time. Hopefully, one player or other will come back from injury in the next few weeks and then we’ll have enough players.”

Klopp’s predecessors might have rushed to make a mid-season transfer, but Klopp seems content to ride out the rest of the season with a shot at a trophy locked down and focus on building the club in his vision this summer.

Despite his suggestion that the club won’t rush to make a decision, he didn’t entirely rule it out either.

“For what happens in the transfer market, you have to wait in the next 48 hours and we will see if something happens or not,” Klopp said.

One player that Liverpool has been linked to as of late is Javier Hernandez, who has been on fire this season, albeit this summer and not in January.
