Losers of four out of five games, the Atlanta Hawks need to put together a win streak if they’re going to get back into the race for one of the top two spots in the Eastern Conference. I don’t think there’s any doubt that the Hawks are one of the most talented teams in the East. However, the road hasn’t been good to Atlanta; the Hawks are just 12-13 away from home.

Paul Millsap continues to be the top all-around performer for the Hawks, averaging a team-high 18 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Al Horford, when healthy, is one of the top big men in the league and he’s proving it this season, putting up 15.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Jeff Teague is also having a solid year at point.

Following a recent dry-spell in which the Miami Heat lost 8-of-10 games, they have gotten back on track with a three-game win streak. This team isn’t the most supremely talented in the East, but with guys like Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade playing inspired basketball and Hassan Whiteside blossoming into a young star, it’s not surprising to see them in sixth place in the conference.

Bosh currently leads the team with 19.2 points per game to go along with 7.6 rebounds and he’s a threat to score from inside or out. Wade is a close second, putting up 18.8 points, 4.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game while Whiteside is averaging 12.3 points, 11.2 rebounds and nearly four blocks. The latter of the three has really come into his own this year.
