3. Oklahoma City Thunder

Featuring two of the best players in the game in Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant, the Thunder are knocking on the door for an NBA championship. The window for success is definitely open and a healthy Westbrook and Durant is a nightmare for any team matching up against the Thunder. However, the window for success only last so long and the impending free agency of Kevin Durant is inevitable. There still seems to be something lacking with the Thunder and have yet to fully recover from the loss of James Harden. The shooting guard position has been a revolving door since Harden’s departure and a long-term solution is needed. The success of the Warriors and the Spurs so far this season should be a sign that the Thunder need to improve their roster anyway they can.

Shabazz Muhammad could be James Harden 2.0, similar to Harden he is left-handed and is driven by an aggressive score first approach. Both players hail from the Pac-12 and a reunion with former UCLA Bruin Russell Westbrook might be just what Shabazz needs to fulfill his potential. Billy Donavan is a great coach and is known for player-development and a winning environment. A potential move to Oklahoma City could provide Muhammad with all the tools and resources necessary to reach his full potential.
