The nation’s No. 1 recruit, Rashan Gary, believes that Michigan’s colors are “maize and yellow”.

Michigan just received one of the biggest commitments in program history as five-star defensive tackle, and nation’s No. 1 overall player, Rashan Gary. He took to ESPN‘s studio on Wednesday afternoon to make his announcement for the entire nation to see, and it was between Michigan and Clemson, with the Wolverines prevailing.

It came as little surprise to many as it was believed that he’d be a Wolverine for months after Michigan secured a commitment from his good friend and Jim Harbaugh had been putting the full-court press on him.

Gary will be a Wolverine in the fall, but does he know exactly what colors he’ll be wearing then? What do I mean by this? Check out what he said after his decision on ESPN:

God told him that he was going to be in the “maize and yellow”. Yes, you read that correctly, he may have misspoke, but come on, man.

Michigan will take him regardless of what colors he thinks the school runs, but this is something you can be sure Gary will hear about for months and even when he steps onto campus as a student this fall.

Jim Harbaugh is putting together a huge recruiting class, both star-wise and number-wise, and the Wolverines will be a top Big Ten contender this fall.
