5. Move Marco Belinelli for a better floor spacer

Marco Belinelli’s calling card is shooting, but this season has been the worst of his career. He is shooting roughly 38% from the field and 30% from three, both of which are career lows. For his career, Belinelli normally shoots 42.5% from the field and 38.3 % from beyond the arc. Additionally, he is 2nd worst on the team in +/- for players with more than 10 minutes/game.

It is odd that Belinelli would have such a precipitous drop-off at 29 years old, the supposed prime of his career. Perhaps he’s hiding an injury or has turmoil in his personal life affecting his play. Regardless, Belinelli’s play this season isn’t up to par and the Kings should look to move him.

One way the Kings could upgrade is to swap Belinelli for Doug McDermott of the Bulls. McDermott is shooting roughly 42% from the field and 43% from three. Seeing as McDermott is five years younger than Belinelli, putting up superior numbers, and almost three times as cheap, straight-up trade would be highly unlikely. The Kings would most likely have to throw in a 2nd round pick and/or more, such as James Anderson, Quincy Acy or Seth Curry to make this deal happen.
