Five Possible Destinations for Jose Mourinho

4. Inter
As recently as a month ago, the idea that Mourinho could possibly make a return to Inter would have been close to unthinkable.
The Portuguese managed to win the treble with the Nerazzurri in 2010 –a feat that had never been done before in Serie A, and hasn’t been done since– and in some ways the club has failed to recover since his departure the following summer.
At least that was the case until this season. Former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has restructured the team around a stout defense, and they consequently spent the first half of the season being title favorites.
Since the new year though, Inter have won all of two matches in the league while drawing three and losing two more. Combined with the imperious form of Juventus and others, Inter have seen their grip on the top spot slip and drift further and further away with each passing week. After Sunday’s draw against Serie A bottom-feeders Hellas Verona, Inter find themselves in fourth place, a full 11 points off league leaders Napoli.
So while there have been no firm links suggesting a return for Mourinho, there are definitely worse options for both him and the club itself. Despite their recent drop in form, Inter are one of the most well-funded and better equipped sides in Italy. That, along with the healthy mix of veterans and extremely promising younger players in the squad might make a return to the San Siro attractive to Mourinho.
