After the Carolina Panthers loss in Super Bowl 50, cornerback Josh Norman broke down into tears on the bench.

There’s nothing harder to watch than a great athlete get so far in the playoffs only to fall just short of the dream of being a champion. Carolina Panthers defensive back Josh Norman had a tremendous season, but ultimately he and the Panthers fell short against the Denver Broncos.

As Super Bowl 50 was coming to an end, Norman did the classy thing to shake Peyton Manning’s hand and congratulated some of the Broncos. As the clock ticked down and the Broncos began to celebrate, Norman broke down into tears with his jersey off sitting on the bench as the confetti rained down upon him.

It’s a hard sight to watch him lose, but his response is completely reasonable. The young cornerback fought hard and made a name for himself all season long this year. He was one of the main reasons that the Panthers were able to get as far as they did and he has a great career ahead of him.

No one likes to fall just short of a championship, but Norman felt all the pain of losing and he will be able to use it going forward as motivation to get even better.
