Levi’s Stadium turf still terrible at Super Bowl 50

The Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos had trouble with their footing as they kept slipping on the field at Super Bowl 50.

The Super Bowl got off to a fast start between the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers at the golden anniversary of the game, but like many games played at Levi’s Stadium, the field was a big issue early on.

During the game, it was reported that both teams were having trouble with their footing. It was clear as the teams began slipping on the field play after play in the second quarter. Even Peyton Manning lost his footing and fell during a snap.

Field issues are no stranger to Levi’s Stadium, and it’s been one of the biggest issues at the stadium ever since it opened a few years ago. With a game of this magnitude however, neither team can afford to slip on the field and allow a big play to happen.

Levi’s Stadium wants to put on a good showing by hosting the Super Bowl and they certainly don’t want the talk of the game to devolve into people talking about the status of their field, especially after the stadium was praised all week.

Expect a mad dash from players looking to switch cleats.
