Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder against the Indiana Pacers.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has worked hard to recover from injuries and get back out on the court this season for the Charlotte Hornets. The Hornets are looking to make a playoff push and having Kidd-Gilchrist on the court instantly makes them a better team.

On Wednesday night, Kidd-Gilchrist suffered another injury on the floor and it was incredibly painful to watch. As Kidd-Gilchrist hustled for a loose ball on the floor, Pacers center Ian Mahinmi fell directly on top of his shoulder and the cameras caught Kidd-Gilchrist crying out in pain.

The replay of the accident is cringe-inducing and watching Kidd-Gilchrist’s face as the weight of Mahimni falls right on top of his extended arm is hard to watch. Even worse for the Pacers, Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a dislocated shoulder and tore the labrum in his shoulder as a result of the play. He will unfortunately miss the rest of the season.

It’s one thing for a player to get injured on a non-contact play, but to see him get hurt while giving a ton of effort on the court is even tougher. When Kidd-Gilchrist is on the court, the Hornets are a tough team to beat. Without him, the Hornets are going to have to survive.
